American culture has nurtured, for a long time, the belief that weight loss is achieved by extreme exercise. For most people, though, it simply isn’t true.

The science says that the lion’s share of our weight loss comes from dietary changes, and beyond that, you typically only get a 2-3% change (about 4-5 pounds) through exercise.

The ‘Biggest Loser Study’ showed that dietary changes were responsible for more of the weight loss than the exercise component. So, don’t panic if you just hate the idea of going to the gym.

Sexercise!

Good news! Those calorie burning physical activities we were talking about? They include time spent in the bedroom. Pucker up: a one-minute kiss burns 26 calories! A half an hour of sex burns about the same number of calories as a 15-minute run! Many chronic medical problems can cause a drop-off in libido or sex drive, but during and after sex, we’re happier and healthier. The feel-good hormones stay peaked for about 36 hours, why not ride that wave?
